They're BFFs! Heather Locklear arrives hand in hand with her aspiring actress daughter Ava to the This Is 40 film premiere

Stroppy teenagers are the bane of every parents existence.
That is, every parent except Heather Locklear who seemed to be experiencing motherly bliss as she arrived to the This Is 40 LA premiere with her daughter.
Hand in hand, Ava Elizabeth Sambora led her mother onto the red carpet, looking more like best friends than parent and child.

With Heather for a mother, there was every expectation her daughter would inherit her beauty gene.

 

And luckily for Ava, she definitely drew the right straw in the genetic lottery turning out just as beautiful as her actress mother.
In a shocking red mini dress, black leather jacket, boots and handbag, the 51-year old looked like a woman half her age.

And with her arm wrapped round Ava - wearing a black mini dress and towering heels - it looked like Heather couldn't have been more proud of the way her daughter has blossomed.
With matching smiles and chubby cheeks the mother and daughter took to the red carpet with familial pride.
Heather was most famous for her role as Sammy Jo Carrington in Dynasty and as Amanda Woodward on Melrose Place but will be starring in Scary Movie 5 set for release in 2013.

Ava hopes to follow in her mother's footsteps into the acting world, but has already dipped her toes into the modelling pool.
Coming from a showbiz family, the decision to pursue an entertainment career is unsurprising.
Ava's father is Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, who Heather married in 1994 shortly after divorcing Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.
The actress has since split with Ava's father - filing for divorce in 2006 - and has been single since November 2011 after calling off her engagement to fellow Melrose Place alum Jack Wagner.
