She don't need no (fashion) education! Elle Fanning works back-to-school style in a Varsity jacket

As a child actress, Elle Fanning probably doesn't get to spend too much time in a classroom.
But the 14-year old showed her school spirit in a grey Letterman jacket whilst out in Tarzana, California.
Looking more like an extra from Slackers than Belles Of St Trinian's, Elle showed off a grungier side to her style personality.

Underneath the monochrome jacket, the young star wore a floral tunic and grey Converse trainers, with her blonde hair's dark roots coming through to complete the 90s look.
Even though the coat could be mistaken for one from the merchandise range at Campbell Hall School in North Hollywood - where she is currently enrolled - the jacket is actually from Opening Ceremony.
Made especially for her, Elle's name is embroidered over the marl grey material on the right hand side.

Star school: Elle currently attends Campbell Hall School in North Hollywood, that was also attended by child actresses Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen

But she isn't the only star to be seen out in this jock uniform.
Rihanna has her very own Letterman jacket from the premium brand - complete with name personalisation - which she has been sporting since September this year.
But that's not to say the Maleficent actress doesn't look just as stylish in it.

 

Now that she has finished filming on the fairytale epic - she plays the sleeping beauty Aurora - Elle is busy promoting Ginger & Rosa, a British film that tells the story of two best friends on a journey of self-discovery during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

Although the film's subject matter is very tense and rather adult, the most daunting prospect for the rising star was sharing her first onscreen kiss with a boy.
'It was funny because the boy in that scene, we had never met each other until that day,' she told Jay Leno on The Tonight Show. 'And it was one of the last days on set, so it was like the director was building up to this scene.'
